2012 West Seattle 5K Run/Walk at Alki

Planning for 2012 West Seattle 5K Run/Walk is underway and we need your help!

This event requires about 75 volunteers to plan the event and run it on race day. Without the support of the PTSA, the WSHS staff, parents and students, and the West Seattle community, this event is simply not possible! Consider helping out with one of the following activities…

SPONSORSHIP PROCUREMENT: Sponsorships are a critical part of our ability to raise money through the event. We are looking for people who can discuss sponsorship opportunities with local businesses. Let us know if you or your company might be interested in sponsoring this event!

GRAPHIC DESIGN and WEB DESIGN: We have an event web site http://www.westseattle5k.com/, an event t-shirt, posters, brochures, postcards, and other marketing materials, that could use a fresh design/updates from a graphic designer.

MARKETING: Provide assistance with printed materials, mailings, advertising, event shirts, and participant bags.

REGISTRATION: Starting in February, we will need help with database updates associated with both in-store and mail-in registrations.

PACKET PICK-UP: As we get closer to race day, we will need help with registration and packet pick-up. Activities include set-up, coordination of student volunteers, registrations, and distribution of race packets and t-shirts.

RACE DAY: Truly a team effort, Race Day is where it happens. Activities include operations coordinator, volunteer coordinator, last minute registration, data entry, packet pick-up, bag check, race course monitors, water/food distribution, chip removal, and recycling/clean-up.
