The West Seattle 5K is an important community event and fundraiser for the school. Jeff Mensing, who has chaired the event for several years, is ready to pass the torch. The PTSA hires a company to do the heavy lifting in organizing the event and the school’s volunteer coordinator, Amy Doll is available to assist the new chair. We cannot hold this event without a point person so please consider a chair or co-chair role. The PTSA website has a job description available here. Learn more about the role.

There is a strong correlation between parent involvement and student performance in school.
One key to staying involved is staying informed with what is happening at school. The PTSA is your connection to everything Westside! We are committed to creating an environment where parents, faculty, staff, and community members come together to discuss educational issues and share information. As voting members of an organized group, our decisions and recommendations will strongly influence our school. Your West Seattle High PTSA is an advocate for all WSHS students, including YOUR student.
